Kazbegi is a townlet in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of north-eastern Georgia. Historically and ethnographically, the town is part of Khevi province. It is the center of the Kazbegi Municipality. At 5047 meters above sea level, Kazbegi Mountain (Mkinvartsveri) is the third highest mountain in Georgia, and is surrounded by myths and religious traditions. According to Greek mythology, as punishment for teaching mankind how to make fire, the Titan Prometheus was chained to a mountainside in the Caucasus for all eternity. On the Lower field of Mt.Kazbegi there’s a great Gergeti Trinity Church looking over the town which creates amazing panoramic views especially in the evenings. This region is full of mountains, glaciers and waterfalls which creates a great atmosphere for visitors to enjoy riding holidays and chill in the evenings.
We’ll explore the rugged beauty of Kazbegi on two wheels. We’ll ride past Gergeti Trinity Church, taking in panoramic views of Mount Mkinvartsveri, a towering, snow-capped peak. We’ll pedal through the striking Truso Valley, where mineral springs and ancient ruins create a unique landscape.
Next, we’ll reach the remote village of Juta, nestled among jagged peaks, where you’ll breathe in the pure mountain air. We’ll traverse the dramatic Khada Gorge, passing ancient stone watchtowers that tell stories of the past.
