If you want to visit Georgia and explore the high Caucasus mountains, riding on the shepherd trails of Tusheti is a great idea. Tusheti is a remote region in the northeastern part of Georgia, accessible only for seven months of the year, from late May to mid-October. During the rest of the year, the road to Tusheti is closed due to heavy snow on Abano Pass (2826m), the only route into this stunning region. The breathtaking flora and fauna, towering mountains, winding rivers, and ancient villages create the perfect setting to lose yourself in the mysterious world of Tusheti and experience one of the most memorable moments of your life
On this wild enduro tour, we will ride on top of the Caucasus mountain range, tackling trails at elevations of 3000m, and descending on wild, technical single tracks used by shepherds since ancient times. Each of our riding days will offer completely different scenery, from the atmosphere to the nature and viewpoints. The trails will vary dramatically, starting with narrow, rocky paths and progressing to rooty trails through pine forests. This tour is designed for experienced riders who can hike their bikes at high altitudes, pedal through climbing sections for extended periods, and descend on some of the craziest trails ever. On certain riding days, we will have the option to shorten our climbing distance and get closer to the descending sections with the help of 4×4 vehicles.
Throughout the tour, we will experience life in ancient villages, meet the warm and hospitable locals, taste delicious regional cuisine, and most importantly, immerse ourselves in the rich cultural traditions of the Tushetian people.
