Covering more than 85,000 hectares of native forest and alpine meadows, the Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park is a protected area located 160 kilometres from the nation’s capital of Tbilisi in the central part of Georgia. The tourist season lasts all year, allowing visitors to experience the stunning variety of flora and fauna, including alpine meadows full of flowers, as well as stunning views and a broad network of twelve trails through the ancient woodlands. Bakuriani is a popular ski resort across the Eastern Europe frequently visited by lots of tourists in winter. This resort turns as a good riding spot for Mountain bikers in the summer. Local government are always making MTB trails in Bakuriani where riders have access on the lifts. Borjomi central park is a regional center where we meet natural hot water sulphur baths and Borjomi mineral water.
We will be visiting Borjomi and it’s surrounding destinations riding bikes on a beautiful sceneries. The most impressive riding day of the tour will be in Likani nature preserve, where we will be riding at Romanov’s trail through the forest with panoramic views and amazing switchbacks. We will ride to beautiful Kakhisi lakes and enjoy the trails in Bakuriani ski resort. If the riders are experienced for freeriding we can reach to the top of Didveli mountain via Ski lifts and go freeriding on the ridgelines of the surrounded mountains.
Day1 – Meeting at the airport / Trails around Tbilisi / Evening beer.
Day2 – Drive to Borjomi. Climb and descend from Kakhisi lakes.
Day3 – Lomis Mta / Romanov’s trail in Likani.
Day4 – Bakuriani park via ski lifts. Freeride at Mt.Didveli and sulphur baths in Borjomi central park.
Day5 – Drive to Tbilisi and riding on the single trails around the city.
Suitable for: Normal riders riding enduro/AM/XC configurations.
Accommodation: Local guesthouse or fancy hotel in Borjomi and Bakuriani.
